Listening remains essential because measurements do not fully describe speech intelligibility, musical balance or audience comfort. Walking the site during rehearsal reveals sudden changes that a single control position will miss.
Required throw, coverage pattern and programme material should guide the choice of professional audio speakers, not simply the headline power rating. Speech-led events need strong intelligibility, while live music may demand greater low-frequency control and headroom. Weather protection, safe rigging options and access for cabling also affect which equipment suits the job.

Small level or equalisation changes may restore balance, but major corrections are harder when the original layout is weak. A well-planned system leaves enough headroom for adjustment without relying on excessive volume.
