This study session covers the recitation of chapter Baqarah verse 1 and then guides students through a series of activities focused on learning how to pronounce words properly. The first exercise focuses on the five letters representing four sounds that make up two Arabic words, alif and waw. Activities two and three go through the alphabet in order to familiarize students with its sound value, letter position, name, symbol in Arabic script and relationship with other Arabic letters. Activity four provides exercises that reinforce the use of diacritical marks called Tashdeedi vowel signs. Activities five through nine review vowels and diphthongs by introducing an alphabetical word list with words containing those combinations.

Memorising Noorani qaida
Of course, memorising Noorani qaida at a young age isn’t easy but it’s important to get started on learning as early as possible. You might not even realise that a lot of people speak much better Arabic than you do because they spent their childhood studying Quranic texts through phonetics and memorisation instead of reading translations or listening to tapes like you did when you were younger. If these ways aren’t working for your kid then take heart – there’s another way! One thing we learned while researching how people learn languages is just how important pronunciation skills are – being able to hear and pronounce new sounds correctly allows fast language acquisition.
